Zilker Park

Take in the Austin skyline and let the kids run free at Zilker Park. Kids can ride the Zilker Zephyr mini train and play on the multi-age playscape. Take a dip in Barton Springs Pool or get some exercise on the Lady Bird Hike and Bike Trail.

Zoo and Aquarium

Spring break is the perfect time to visit the Austin Zoo and the Austin Aquarium! An easy drive away from the East Austin homes of Whisper Valley, the Austin Zoo educates visitors on the rescue and rehabilitation of animals from all over the world. The Austin Aquarium is located off of Anderson Mill Road and features thousands of species and interactive exhibits.

Food Trucks

You can find a treat for everyone at one of Austin’s many food truck parks! There are over 1,000 food trailers in the city alone, but you can get a start by check out Eater Austin’s 20 Essential Food Trucks in Austin guide.

Visit Nearby State Parks

The whole family will love a day of exploring nearby state parks during spring break in Austin. At Pedernales Falls State Park, you can swim in the river, hike the trails, go horseback riding or go camping and enjoy the stunning night sky. McKinney Falls boasts several miles of trails, enchanting waterfalls and areas for picnics and campgrounds.
